We can’t wait to see you in Manchester for what promises to be an incredible 4 days of Tetris!
Getting to 422 from Manchester airport is quite easy. The quickest way is to get the direct train to Manchester Piccadilly (12-20 mins) and getting the 192 bus which runs right past the building (10 minutes). The whole journey takes around 40 minutes.
Alternatively, the cheapest way is to get the 43 bus from the airport to Whitworth park (around £2), and from there it’s around a 20 minute walk to the venue (Or you can stay on the bus for 2x more stops and get off at University of Manchester. From there it is an 8 minute walk to the Upper Brook Street Travelodge).
Depending on the time of day, the bus takes around an hour to get to Whitworth Park from the Airport. It runs every 10-15 mins and operates 24/7.
As for things to do in and around Manchester, the Museum of Science and Industry is located in the oldest surviving passenger railway station and has many cool exhibits (free to enter). It’s located in Castlefield, which is also a very cool area to explore with it being built around an old Roman Fort. There are also plenty of pubs lining the canal walks and like most of Manchester, plenty of nice eateries.
Another place to explore if you like shopping, street art and quirky stalls is Northern Quarter. Plenty going on there.
More topically, if football is your thing, there are tours of Old Trafford and Etihad stadiums as well as the National Football Museum
One or two other places to note; The John Rylands Library. Located in Deansgate, famously has a Harry Potter aesthetic.
The Curry Mile is a street famous for it’s high concentration of South Asian/Middle Eastern eateries.
If you are staying a little longer and renting a car, Manchester is located very close to the Peak district with absolutely loads of stunning hiking routes less than an hour’s drive away.
