PREAMBLE
The Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC) believes that tournaments and tournament organizers have a duty to protect the most vulnerable among us, and to allow people to join our community without fear of exclusion. We believe that all players and spectators should be respected for who they are, and as such we expect any group or individual who wishes to compete, attend official in-person events, and/or engage with our endorsed social media platforms to abide by the expectations established in this document. Any group or individual who is unable or unwilling to comply with the following code will not be welcome at any CTWC affiliated events. (See CONSEQUENCES section for a breakdown of violation responses). As this is a codified version of the motivations of CTWC, this document applies to all participants of CTWC events and online platforms (e.g. facebook, discord, twitch).
PROHIBITED CONDUCT

- Sexual assault, harassment, or unwanted sexual conduct or comments.
- Cheating, manufacturing hi-scores, or otherwise gaining an unfair competitive advantage.
- Sabotage or intentional distraction during competition.

- Damaging, interfering with, or otherwise engaging in an activity that disrupts an event or prevents any attendee from participating in an event.
- Engaging in otherwise unsportsmanlike conduct
- Failing to adhere to any venue guidelines. This means the additional conduct policies outlined by conventions or expos that host a CTWC event.
- Participating in illegal activities while attending in person events.
- Stealing, misappropriating, or otherwise mishandling event funds or prize pool funds.
- Encouraging, aiding in, or threatening to engage in any prohibited conduct under this document.
CONSEQUENCES
Consequences for violating the Code of Conduct may include, but are not limited to: exclusion from all events affiliated with CTWC, a ban from the CTWC online platforms, disqualification, and/or trespass from event spaces. Consequences will be determined by CTWC staff on a case-by-case basis, and will generally follow a three-strike system:
- A verbal (in person or through Discord private messaging) warning administered by a CTWC staff member. This message will clearly outline what section of the Code of Conduct was violated.
- A temporary ban or removal from a live or virtual event.
- A permanent ban from all CTWC events and Discord server.
CTWC staff understands that every violation of this code comes with nuance and multiple interpretations of the situation. Certain violations may be egregious enough to bypass one or all of the strikes. Our team is dedicated to working with players individually to administer appropriate action and protection.
