Classic Tetris World Championship and Genesis partner once again to bring you our first major event of 2026!
Seen as the premier event for the Fighting Game Community, it was only fitting that the top Tetris E-sport organization participates with some of our best in attendance!
Registration ends on 1/23 at 11:59 PST! You must register through the Genesis Start.gg website, which can be found right here [https://www.start.gg/tournament/genesis-x3/details]
In order to play in the DAS OR Open tournament, you will need the one day competitor pass.
If you want to play in BOTH the DAS and Open tournament, you will need the 2 day competitor pass.
On top of that registration for each event is $10.
So here’s the break down:
– Playing in 1 event: $70 (1-day pass plus registration fee)
– Playing in 2 events: $120 (2-day pass plus registration fee for both tournaments)
– If you plan on staying Sunday for the Smash Finals and you are going to play in both tournaments, it is recommended to get the 3-day competitor pass. It will save you a few bucks than trying to pay for a 2-day pass and a 1-day spectator pass. This is for the competitor pass, spectator passes do not have the same deadline.
The DAS Tournament will be on Friday and the Open Tournament will be on Saturday.
The DAS qualifying system will be the number of maxes in an hour, same as last year and all quals will be in person. Qualifying times will be posted once the competitor registration is closed.
The Open qualifying system will be decided post Competitor registration closing. Depending on the number of players registered, we will do the Space City/CTW qualifying format. We will also allow online quals for this as well! However, if the number of players is lower than the expected threshold, then we will default to number of maxes in an hour again with all quals being done in person. More information will be provided after the registration close date.
As for the tournament itself, there is a plan to have a Silver bracket and Bronze pools. Depending on player turnout, we might change that system but everyone that attends will get to play in a match. All matches in Gold for both the Open and DAS will be Best of 5, Level 18 starts and single elimination.
Tournament schedule will be posted after registration closes once we know the players to expect. Other rules can be found here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1l7sJ4av1ezVe_RosnOQz65PyXs9ASi_Y6B7gHiGHrVE/edit?usp=sharing Some rules might change but if/when they do we will be sure to communicate it with everyone.
