We are so back for the 2nd annual Jonas Cup, the CTWC North American DAS championship! This event will be held once again at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo from October 17-19 in Portland, Oregon.

The Jonas Cup honors the greatest of all-time, Jonas Neubauer, the 7-time Classic Tetris World Champion with a tournament that celebrates his outstanding achievements with the original playstyle known to many as DAS (Delayed Auto Shift). The classic movements of the D-pad on an NES controller to move pieces masterfully while playing on high speeds was a testament to how great of a Tetris master he was, and his legacy continues with this tournament.

Qualifying details in a nutshell are as follows:
- 90-minute quals. Number of Maxouts and kicker rules remain in effect
- Qualifying session 1: Friday October 17 3-4:30pm PDT
- Qualifying session 2: Friday October 17 5-6:30pm PDT
- Qualifying session 3: Saturday October 18 10-11:30am PDT
THERE WILL BE A GOLD & SILVER BRACKET!
Due to popular demand, this year’s Jonas Cup will feature a 48-player Gold Bracket tournament where the winner will be the official Jonas Cup champion, as well as a 32-player Silver Bracket tournament! 80 players in total will compete, making it one of the largest DAS events ever!

We will also be holding a 2-player Tetris Relay Tournament and a MindMeld Tournament on Friday October 17!
Tetris Relay will run from 12-2:30pm PDT
MindMeld will run from 7-9:30pm PDT

PRIZE POOL INFORMATION
Lastly, we at CTWC heard your feedback regarding last year’s pay out structure. The intention was always to send the winner to Germany and participate in the CTWC DAS Championship. The narrative got spun that “more money means more players going” and that in turn led to only 4 players getting paid for their participation, leaving many players wondering was it worth going to this event? And although the results showed that send as many players as possible made for a better event, the fact is that we want to make sure that all participants know what they are playing for and what the payout structure is when entering a tournament.
With that said, we have created a payout model that explains clearly what the payout structure will be when certain goals are reached. We hope that by letting you all know now what the model is, that it can help you make a better-informed decision about attending this event. We know travel and accommodation can be expensive, so we hope this fills in the variables for you to decide.
